Special Collections’ instructional services program encourages collaboration between librarians and course instructors as a vital part of the educational process to help students learn archival research, critical thinking and information literacy skills. Librarians provide instruction using a library classroom, non-library classrooms, and the University’s learning management system (Canvas) in order to provide convenience for faculty and staff.
In addition to one-off instruction sessions, Special Collections also offers other options for class instruction. For an emphasis on in-depth research, faculty can bring students in numerous times over a semester to conduct in-library research, work on projects, or other activities. To view a selection of possible instructional opportunities, go to the instruction page.
