Cartoonist Profile: John Reidell

John Reidell was born on an Iowa farm in 1932, the fourth child in a family of sixteen children. For a time, he taught Enlgish, art, and geography, but he began editorial cartooning in 1962, freelancing for several Iowa newspapers before becoming a cartoonists for the Peoria Journal Star in Illinois. His background also includes service with the U.S. Navy; being a counselor at Father Flanagan's Boys' Home in Boys Town, Nebraska; and working as news editor of Radio STation KCIM in Carroll, Iowa |
