Artstor is an extensive non-profit digital image library with over two-million high-quality images that come from different collections, including many museums, libraries, and photo archives such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Artstor users can view a variety of resources, including paintings, maps, illuminated manuscripts, and images of sculptures, artifacts, and garments. This supports multidisciplinary study for areas such as anthropology, music, women’s studies, theatre, and architecture. Images in Artstor are licensed for non-commercial, educational use and can be included in things like classroom instruction and student assignments. The images are also discoverable in JSTOR.
