Southern Miss Gulf Coast Library Hosts Artist Olivia Simon

A new exhibit on display at the Mississippi Gulf Park campus in Long Beach features the works of coast artist Olivia Simon.

Simon, whose academic studies concentrated on painting, graduated cum laude from Loyola University. Her method is described as non-objective, layering paint and applying spontaneous gestures with graphite or woodless colored pencil. Simon’s artwork is displayed on all three floors of the library through March 31. An artist reception honoring Simon will be held Thursday, Feb. 27 from 4:30 – 6 p.m. at the library.
