University Libraries is at the heart of the academic enterprise at Southern Miss. Supporting research, teaching and other facets of intellectual growth, library technology creates and supports the technical infrastructure with University Libraries to better serve the needs of the University community. To continue to make our collections accessible and ensure our services meet the needs of the consistently changing technology and information, University Libraries is announcing a redesign of its web site, www.lib.usm.edu.

“When moving forward with redesigning our web site, we kept our students in mind. We wanted a site that was easier to navigate with responsive design, while continuing to meet the needs of our users. I am proud of the work done by our web services coordinator and the web committee in making this redesign a reality,” says Lisa Jones, Head of Finance and Library Information Technology.

We invite you to browse the site, click through its pages and access any collections or services that you frequent. The site, in a soft-launch phase, is open for testing, and you are encouraged to report any issues or problems. The site is expected to be fully operational by June 1. In the coming months, additional sites, such as the Gulf Coast, Special Collections and Gunter Libraries’ pages will also be undergoing redesigns.

Questions or problems with the site should be directed to John Blair, University Libraries’ Web Services Coordinator at john.blair@usm.edu. We appreciate your patience as we move forward with this upgrade.
