University Libraries Talk Highlights Digital Initiatives
News item published on: 2014-09-11 12:10:36The University of Southern Mississippi Libraries will host a presentation on the Libraries’ digital initiatives on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, 3-4:30 p.m. in Cook Library Room 123.
In addition to print resources found in library collections, University Libraries develops and enhances collections of resources to support the University’s research, teaching, and learning activities. The three major digital initiatives housed at USM are The Aquila Digital Community, Digital Collections, and the Mississippi Digital Library.
The Aquila Digital Community is an open access digital repository featuring research and scholarly works created by faculty, staff, and students at Southern Miss. The Digital Collections contains a selection of digitized items found in McCain Library & Archives. The Mississippi Digital Library, a collaborative digital project for the state, provides online access to primary sources held by repositories in Mississippi.
The speakers will provide an overview of each project and the services each initiative offers for faculty, staff, students, and researchers worldwide.
