Special Collections Accepting Applications for 2022 Student Curators

University Libraries’ Special Collections is accepting applications to serve as a student curator for the 2022 spring semester. Three students will be selected to work with a librarian to create a one-case exhibit featuring materials from Special Collections and learn how to select items for display, install the materials, write labels and exhibit text, and publicize the exhibit.

Student curators are required to select topics and materials for their exhibits from the materials found in Special Collections. Students may choose from a list of topics by major but topics outside of this list are also encouraged.

This opportunity is available to all undergraduate and graduate students at Southern Miss. The deadline for applications is October 18. Click here to apply.

Information on the 2021 student curated exhibits is available here. The exhibits can also be viewed in McCain Library and Archives between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
