Renovations in Cook Library Nearing Completion

Renovations in Cook Library are rapidly coming to an end and are expected to be completed by early 2021. During the summer and fall, extensive updates to the lobby and learning commons, that included new office spaces for librarians and staff in Public Services and a new open study area, were finalized.

Interlibrary Loan was relocated from the second floor to the first floor and is now part of the newly refurbished Access Services desk. Access Services, which also includes circulation, received an updated design with new office spaces, carpet and paint.

The research services desk was relocated to the northeast corner of the learning commons with new office space for research librarians. Research librarians, previously located behind Starbucks, are now in a more prominent location to provide better service for students, faculty and staff.

Updates to Technical Services and Library Technology, located on the south end of the second floor, are in the final stages. Also nearing completion are study spaces on the second floor, and offices for the Center for Student Success, Trio-Student Support Services Program, and the Math Center, which will all be located on the first floor.

In March, the University Advisement Center opened in its new space, and in August, the Bower Academic Center opened its doors to student athletes. Both of these spaces are located on the second floor.
