University Libraries’ Special Collections is accepting applications to serve as a student curator for the spring 2020 semester. The student curator program teaches students how to select items for display, install the materials, write labels and exhibit text, and publicize the exhibit. Student curators are required to select their topics and materials from the items found in Special Collections.

Three students will be selected to work with a librarian to create a one-case exhibit featuring materials from Special Collections. This opportunity is available to all Southern Miss undergraduate and graduate students, and applications will be accepted through November 4.

A list of possible topics by major can be found here. Topics outside of this list are also encouraged. For information on the most recent student curated exhibits, click here.
