Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute (MDPI) is a publisher of peer-reviewed, open access journals dedicated to providing free access to the latest research. University Libraries is happy to offer this publishing discount program to the members of the Southern Miss community.

Institutions find that associated authors regularly publish in MDPI journals, and that administering the increasing number of article processing charges (APCs) can be time consuming. The MDPI discount program supports institutions by simplifying the processes to reduce overheads associated with APCs. MDPI offers free access to an online submission system that provides a wide range of meta-data on articles under processing, data on submission status, and information on invoices, which can be exported in one click.

As an author affiliated with Southern Miss, you can receive up to one institutional open access program discount on the APC for any paper published in an MDPI journal. Additionally, researchers can benefit from a 10% discount on book processing charges.

For more information, contact Blake Denton at or 601.266.4704. You can also visit MDPI for more in the institutional open access program discount.
