Artwork by Amanda Myers is currently on display in the Cook Library Art Gallery. Myers holds a bachelor of fine arts in graphic design from The University of Southern Mississippi. While in school, she fell in love with printmaking - the process of creating an image that can be printed multiple times, usually through traditional techniques. It is a process that requires a lot of patience and technical skill.

The majority of the works displayed in this exhibit are linocut relief prints. After an image is designed, it is hand carved into a piece of linoleum, rolled over with ink, then transferred to a piece of paper via a printing press. By repeating the inking and printing process, multiples of the same image can be created.

Myer’s work is defined by bold, crisp lines with animals serving as her favored subject matter. In addition, she also loves to explore the cultural and symbolic representations of creatures in folklore.

The exhibit will be on display through the fall semester. For more information on the works displayed or to purchase, please contact Amanda at acmyers621@yahoo.com or visit her web store at https://www.etsy.com/shop/Admers.
