Three students, one male in the center, and two females standing in front of a tall shelf of books. University Libraries Special Collections is accepting applications to serve as a student curator for the Spring 2025 semester. Student curators will work with a librarian to create a one-case exhibit featuring materials from Special Collections. Students will learn how to select items for display, install the materials, write labels and exhibit text, and publicize the exhibit.

Student curators are required to select topics and materials for their exhibits from the materials found in Special Collections at the University of Southern Mississippi. A list of select topics by major is available. We encourage topics outside of this list as well, but items to use in the exhibit must be found in Special Collections.

This opportunity is available to all undergraduate and graduate students at USM. Three students will be selected to serve as student curators for Spring 2025. The current student curated exhibits are on display through March 24 in Special Collections found in McCain Library and Archives room 305.

Application is closed.
