University Libraries is hosting an Edible Book Festival in the Cook Library Learning Commons Gallery on Friday, April 2, 2018, at 10 a.m.

Since its inception in 1999, the International Edible Book Festival is held annually on or around April 1st - the birthday of Jean-Anthelme Brillat-Savarin (1755 - 1826), the French author of a witty book on food entitled Physiologie du goût. Dozens of libraries and cultural organizations around the world have held their own festivals to celebrate his work.

Stop by the Cook Library Learning Commons Gallery to check out the submissions from Southern Miss faculty, staff, and students as well as members of the Hattiesburg community. Light refreshments will be served. More information about the festival and examples of edible books can be found in our LibGuides and on Pinterest.

To submit an entry (deadline March 27) or for questions about the festival, contact Elena Azadbakht at Elena.Azadbakht@usm.edu or 601.266. 6424.
